The Perfect Power Institute™ believes that a collaborative approach is critical to transforming our electricity system. Partnerships between existing and new players can accelerate improvement. For example, our work over the past 6 years has revealed that local governments are a key resource, and we are establishing programs in which utilities and cities work together on prototypes that demonstrate success.

The PPI also works to educate regulators on Perfect Power policy principles and system designs. Our State Advisors – all former regulators who were instrumental in restructuring the states of New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Massachusetts – are forming a Regulatory Team of Leaders to explore and promote those policy approaches that will deliver the most smart grid value for consumers and suppliers alike.

For our Perfect Power Seal of Approval program, we have joined forces with industry experts such as UL, S&C Electric, the Pecan Street Project and the Illinois Institute of Technology to both further develop this groundbreaking set of electricity performance metrics and demonstrate the value of the metrics to developers, utilities, regulators, local governments, vendors and consumers alike.
